The young musician will play/sing in the ensemble’s rehearsals schedule and take part in concerts if appropriate.

ENSEMBLES CURRENTLY IN THE SCHEME

 

WHAT PARTICIPANTS COMMIT TO

Young musician will:

  • Understand and meet the expectations of the host ensemble
  • Attend the required number of rehearsals and/or concerts
  • Practise and endeavour to play or sing to their highest standard
  • Be open and receptive in working with their mentor.

Host Ensemble will:

  • Establish a suitable selection process
  • Outline a schedule of rehearsals and/or concerts to suit each young musician
  • Ensure the safety of young musicians involved and identify a Safeguarding Lead (see Safeguarding checklist)
  • Provide a Mentor for the young musician to refine and develop the young musician’s rehearsal skills
  • Give encouragement and a positive experience to the young musician and identify and overcome any barriers to the young musician’s participation.


Plymouth Music Accord (PMA) will:

  • Promote, publicise and administer the scheme
  • Support communication between the ensemble, the young musician and others including teachers and parents
  • Provide funding to Host Ensembles (normally £50 per ensemble) to offset any costs incurred in supporting the young musician.
